4ème Cours de Rétrovirologie biologique, Dakar (26th Oct - 24th Nov 2009)
This year, new Auto40 features will be presented by Mr Languillat of Inodex, Paris.
8th UK Meeting on Microbiology, Genetics and Molecular Biology
Apogee sponsored the "8th UK Meeting on Microbiology, Genetics and Molecular Biology of Archaea" at the University of Nottingham on January 9th 2009. The A40-MiniFCM has outstanding performance for cell cycle analysis of archaea and other small cells.
Dual laser excitation - January 2009
Apogee has delivered its first dual laser flow cytometer with 405nm and 488nm lasers. Two simultaneous lasers are now offered to expand the range of applications for Apogee's high sensitivity machines.
15th ICASA, Dakar, Sénégal
Apogee exhibited its Auto40 model at ICASA in Dakar, 3rd-7th December 2008
Apogee at 3eme Cours de Retrovirologie Biologique
In collaboration with Inodex (France), Apogee exhibited and demonstrated the new 'Auto40' flow cytometer at the '3eme Cours de Retrovirologie Biologique' (3rd March - 2nd April 2008), Dakar, Senegal. This annual course introduces students to the full range of tools and techniques against HIV and attracts world leaders from the scientific community and students from all over west and central Africa.
New Low Cost Auto40 Model Now In Full Production
Available with:
- blue or green laser
- 1, 2 or 3 fluorescence channels
- one light scatter detector
- refillable or long-life fluid box
- thermostable or low cost liquid reagents
- fully automated calibration
- fully automated data analysis for CD4, CD8, CD4% and CD8%
Easy to Use:
- Turn on power and allow the Auto40 to self-clean.
- When prompted, insert a tube of Apogee calibration beads and move the arm to the 'Run' position.
- While the sample is analyzed, you may move the arm to the 'Flush' position.
- When the sample finishes, allow the machine to clean itself (approx 30 seconds)
- Load the appropriate protocol file for your sample (e.g. CD4, CD8, CD4% or CD8%)
- Insert the blood sample tube and move the arm to the 'Run' position.
- Wait for the sample to be sucked up. You may then move the arm to the 'Flush' position.
- A dialog box informs you of the results when the sample finishes.
Full histogram data is displayed but the operator does not need to interpret the data. Software verifies the histograms and provides the result in a simple dialog box. Alternatively an Excel Export Wizard can be run to present results from multiple data files.
Marine Microbiology: North-Western Mediterranean Sea Cruise
Dr. G. Gregori (University of "La Mediterranee": Laboratoire de Microbiologie , Geochimie et Ecologie Marine CNRS UMR 6117) took the A40-MiniFCM on board the research vessel TETHYS II (CNRS-INSU) during the "POTES mer" cruise. SYBR Green I for nucleic acid content and propidium iodide for cell membrane integrity (viability) along with light scatter characteristics were used to measure the abundance of marine bacteria at a variety of depths.
New Data Acquisition and Analysis Software
New Data Acquisition and Analysis Software (version 1-88) has the ability to overlay data from multiple files.

This new version has many refinements, but it's main feature is overlaying data from multiple files - a big help when evaluating and presenting your data. Contact us now for a free upgrade!

Dakar, Senegal
Apogee presented the A40-MiniFCM to students studying for the "Diplome Universitaire de Retrovirologie Biologique", March 2007, at the CHU Le Dantec Laboratoire de Bacteriologie - Virologie, Dakar.
Cytometry 2006, Bruges
Thank you to all who visited our booth at 'Cytometry 2006' - the 11th annual congress of the AFC and the BVAC/ABCA in Bruges, Oct 18-20 (French & Belgium Cytometry Societies).
The European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) Workshop - 23rd-27th August 2006, Carlsberg Academy, Copenhagen
"Cell Cycle and Cytoskeletal Elements in Bacteria"
Apogee sponsored this popular and successful meeting and displayed the high sensitivity A40-MiniFCM. Several of the participants presented data from their Apogee flow cytometers, and others recognised the need for a flow cytometer such as the A40, designed for demanding small particle applications.
