Light Scatter to SI Units Conversion: Nanometer size and Refractive Index
We are pleased to announce a major development of ApogeeFlow's patented light scatter calibration method to derive size and refractive index from three dimensional light scatter data. By analysing populations of particles of precisely known refractive indexes (e.g. nD=1.430 and nD=1.380), software recognizes and interprets Mie scattering oscillations in SALS (small angle), LALS (large angle) and MALS (medium angle) light scatter data and generates size (nanometers) and refractive index meta-parameters at the click of a button.
The method is easier to use than alternative Mie theory based methods because it is based on practical data from particles of 2 or more refractive indexes instead of theoretical optical system characteristics and polystyrene test beads.
